Nick Dargie – Managing Director

I’m Nick Dargie, the Managing Director of Surveying Cymru; pictured with my dog Boots, we rescued this handsome lad from Cyprus whilst on holiday there two years ago and yes, I am the one on the left. I was educated at Llandaff  Cathedral School and Cheltenham College.

I gained most of my industry experience working from an early age on building sites and then for a company called Domestic and General Installation Ltd as consultant and business development manager, supplying home improvement solutions from cavity wall insulation to loft insulation, gas and boiler installations to solar panels. DGI became one of the most trusted names in the industry and it has given me a twenty-five year grounding. This gives me the perfect springboard to run Surveying Cymru because in this business I’ve seen it all before.

At surveying Cymru we are a highly skilled and highly qualified group of individuals with literally decades of experience in the industry.

Our principals of work are high standards, honesty, cost efficiency, reliability and professionalism. We generally operate in a region which covers from South Wales to the The Midlands and the South West.

However, we are part of a network of surveyors and industry professionals from around the UK so please send us your enquiries and we will be happy to advise you.

A wide range of instruments and techniques can be used to investigate the presence of moisture in building materials. When used correctly, they can provide a valuable aid to investigation. The competence and experience of the person undertaking the damp investigations is often of greater importance than the kit he or she carries.

Experience and qualified surveyors are the difference between a correct and incorrect diagnosis of damp. For example, it is sometimes found that condensation is misdiagnosed as another form of dampness resulting in the wrong form of treatment being specified. Surveying Cymru`s surveyors are very experienced in identifying these damp issues

Our services can be viewed from the main menu. Let Surveying Cymru turn a damp house into a dry home.

Pursuant to our ongoing commitment to our clients to remain accredited and to further achieve newer and ever higher levels of competency our partners have renewed their Constructionline accreditation as per the attached.

Also we have been asked several times lately if we do Commercial EPC`s, yes we do as per the updated list of services below. They are based on the footprint of the building concerned, so please send us any plans in the first instance so that we may work out the cost of the CEPC prior to engaging a surveyor.

I’m Jak Dargie, Contracts Manager working within our family run business Surveying Cymru.

I attended Haberdasher’s Monmouth School for Boys and then Reading University after completing my A-Levels to gain a BA In Fine Art. This has also benefitted me within my drone work for the company with regards to capturing images/videos for certain jobs from an artistic point of view.

I am fully licensed with the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) for special operations, meaning I can accommodate the most difficult of jobs. I also have achieved my GVC (General Visual Line of Sight Certificate) and my A2CofC (Certificate of Competency) Both of these qualifications mean that I will be able to work for many years to come and stay up to date with the latest legislation, which is constantly changing.

I am also our in house Thermographer so if you have any queries about any of the services we provide, then please don’t hesitate to contact myself or Nick through our ‘Contact Us’ page.
