In addition to the above, we have chosen to have all of our Lead Technicians assessed by the On-Site Competency Assessment Reporting mechanism (OSCAR).

Extract from OSCAR Cavity Clearance Scheme:–
The aim of this on site assessment is to ensure that the Technician has the skills and knowledge required to interpret information to be able to prepare in accordance with the job specifications, company Method Statement following safe working practices and within the allocated time. Technicians will be assessed carrying out measuring, marking out, calibrating equipment, cutting access apertures, filling, positioning and securing activities.
The Technician must also understand how to communicate with others to ensure work is carried out effectively. This includes identifying and selecting the correct quantity and quality of materials, tools and equipment, additionally Technician’s must understand how to calculate quantity, area and wastage.
To achieve accreditation all Technician’s work must be carried out in ways that will minimise the risk of damage to the work and surrounding area and using and maintaining tools and equipment effectively. Technicians must understand their responsibilities and the hazards associated with this type of work, including the specific issues associated with working below ground level and at heights. Also included is the need to understand the accident and emergency procedures. Installers must also have knowledge of how to dispose of waste in accordance with legislation and environmental responsibilities.
Finally Technician’s must understand the types of problems that can occur when carrying out this type of work and how to overcome them. Technicians must fulfil the Assessment Criteria to be awarded the highly regarded OSCAR Approval.
